Re-launch of the Professional Land Reform Group

A meeting is to be held in London next month to re-launch the Professional Land Reform Group (PLRG), whose mission is...

"to debate and develop ideas and policies on land use and tax reform, among professionals of all kinds, in order to promote the fair and efficient use of all natural resources on a sustainable basis".

PLRG was formed in 2004 and met regularly at Transport for London, where its chair (Dave Wetzel, former GLC Transport Committee Chair) was Vice Chair. Since the 2008 GLA/Mayoral elections, when there was "all change please" at TfL, PLRG has been without a home.

Upon completing my doctoral thesis last year, I volunteered to act as Hon Sec to PLRG. This meeting will review the Mission, activities and roles of PLRG, as well as elect officers and set subscription rates.

You are receiving this news because, as someone who has had an interest in my own research activities over the years, I thought you might be interested in PLRG. You may even already be a member. The PLRG website no longer exists, so I am using my own until the Committee decides how to manage its 'virtual' existence.

If you do not want to hear from me again, please email me with the subject "unsubscribe LVscape". If it is just PLRG that you don't want to hear about again, subject should be "unsubscribe PLRG". But if this does interest you, I hope you will want to come to the meeting on 29th April. I will be sending a Calling Notice to PLRG members, via this website, in the next few days.

The meeting will be on the 'fringe' of an international conference about Land Value Taxation, which is open to all and lasts all that week. Attendance is only £35 a day (including lunch). You do not need to register for this conference in order to attend the free PLRG meeting.

Many of you helped me to complete my PhD thesis and might wish to read it. You can download it from this website here
